WOW – What a terrific time I had in Maldives.

Before I left my home in Vietnam, I thought I’m going to have an absolute blast. Guess what?

I was right.

As promised, I’ve taken plenty of videos and accumulated a great amount of insights from my stay in this amazing tropical paradise. So that’s the good news.
The bad news for you is that I can only share with you so much in this post. I hope it will be well enough to inspire you to really take charge of your life so you can as well live beyond your means..

Some experiences in life really transform it, so life will never be the same again. After having returned from this trip, I truly feel like I’m less of a normal person than I was before. This trip definitely increased my self-worth, as it showed me what’s really possible when you work hard, but also have the courage to reward yourself by using the money you’ve earned. All work and no fun makes life dull and boring.

There’s a fine line between earning money and keeping it, and really using money to reward yourself. I think if we’re too inclined of saving money and not really enjoying what we do have, we stay emotionally poor. Life is short, and sometimes we have to let ourselves go loose and live like a king.

The first I want to show you is the resort we stayed in. Yes, it wasn’t just me on that vacation. My girlfriend Kim joined me and I’m glad that she did. In life, it’s very important to be with someone great. I believe it’s better to be single than it is to be together with the wrong person. You’ve to be right together or it just won’t work. Like any other relationship, everyone must have this fit and live with each other. It is team work, we are no man’s island.

Maldives is not the cheapest vacation destination. Well, let’s be honest – it’s pretty expensive for the average person.

Most resorts can only be reached by seaplane and the fare varies from $280 to $550/person, that’s for a return ticket going from Male airport to your resort. So that’s what you need to add on top of your costs (international flight ticket, resort, food).

This was my first time on a real seaplane.

We were able to shoot these videos during our seaplane flight:

My dream was always to stay in an overwater villa.. and that’s exactly what we had going for this trip.
I shot this quick video for you:

This is what we woke up to every day. It’s fabulous. Imagine waking up in an amazing place like this. Life couldn’t be more rewarding.

Believe it or not, but the most beautiful coral reefs were just about 10 seconds away from our over-water bungalow, making it comfortable for us to go snorkeling.

Snorkeling was really great. You got no idea what I was able to see down there. I mean really anything from the weirdest tropical fish (fish with long noses or stick shaped fish), turtles, sea worms and even real sea snakes of serious sizes!!

During my first two days of snorkeling, I was only able to see small sea snakes, they looked like this:

maldives trip

But it was day 3 when I saw a really crazy snake. It was massive and after the snake saw me observing it, I saw it’s tongue moving like crazy.

That was a bit scary, and I was emotionally forced to leave the water for a bit. However, I realized that hardly any snake would bite you, unless you keep on provoking it. So I just stuck to what I was doing before and that was to just be an observer. If you don’t get involved, you also don’t get hurt.

I didn’t have an underwater camera with me so I wasn’t able to take any photos for you. I’ll try to rent one for my next diving experiences.

The island we stayed on was rather small, maybe 100 meters long at best and 50 meters wide. It was more than big enough to go for a walk.

It also had a beautiful long sandbank.

I was even able to observe baby sharks 🙂

One of the reasons why it’s more fun in Asia is because the sea water temperature rarely falls below 25°C / 77 °F. Imagine at this moment, my butt could be freezing elsewhere!

The sea water temperature doesn’t increase or decrease much throughout the year. So that’s brilliant. You can go inside the water anytime.

If you compare that to the US or Europe, it’s a completely different ball game. In the US, you can’t really enjoy a swim in October because it’s so cold and you must be scared to catch gout. On top of that, the water is so dirty that you need to be scared to catch some serious disease.

Even if you can go inside the water during summer, it’s still cold and most beaches are overrun by tourists or locals.  So in general, too cold, too dirty and too noisy.

That’s not prosperity to me.

Honestly, not my cup of tea!

Here’s my cup of tea 🙂

Booking the overwater bungalow was totally worth it and I don’t think we would have gotten the same value and experience from staying in a beach bungalow.

You get what you pay for. The overwater bungalow offers you endless privacy, your own entry to the ocean, and I just like the fact how close I’m to the beautiful sealife. I felt so far away from my every day life that I completely forgot about it. I think that’s key. Over the past years, I’ve been living in big cities and noise was always an emotion crusher.

So the stay in this resort totally paid off and I don’t regret having paid that much. I am on a vacation, and I worked so hard for this.

That raises a concern in me: If you’re vacationing in Maldives, would you want to stay in a typical room just because it’s cheaper, or would you rather stay in the best of the best overwater bungalow with endless privacy, comfort and peacefulness?

Well, you answer is probably “Yes, of course I’d choose the best of the best but it’s about money you know?“

Yes I know, however a $250/night room offers you less than an $800/night overwater bungalow.

My perspective has changed. I bet yours would as well if you stayed in such a place for just a night.

It’s a different standard altogether.

I know this is expensive and that it may be impossible for you to pay that much now just to prove to yourself that you’re worth it.

The point I’m trying to make is if you really want the best of the best, just like I want, you need to increase your income figures.

If money was no object, I think there are very few people that would say the less comfortable, less private, less everything option is their preferred choice.

Thought: We are meant to create life on our own terms, not letting life create us.

Someone said: The best way to raise your standard is by getting yourself around people or environments where it’s better.

How true that is.

What did I do during my stay on this gorgeous island?

Finally, in a very long time, I had the change to recharge my batteries even if it was just for a few days.

Well, I still did some reading and spend maybe 30 minutes on day 4 and day 5 answering emails/skype messages.

Other than that, not that much.

Here are some photos from our trip:

This vacation was the best I’ve ever had and it gave me new ideas for what I want to do in the near future, in both business and life.

That said, Maldives is more than worth the journey and the money you spent, and I bet you’re going to get a lot out from this trip.

I hope that was a big inspiration for you to really see WHY you need to work so damn hard on your business.

You need the money to live the life of your dreams. Whatever you’ve to do to succeed, it’s worth it.

To your success,
